I have been coming to this site to see what is current on Qt.  One thing that really amazes/annoys me here as well as the Qt support, is why is the emphasis consistently on 'VISTA getting it right',  when  personally, every other software that my colleagues  and I use, ARE all working fine with VISTA.   Fidelity Active Trader used to have the same problem  QT has, that is, needing  permission to run each time, but  Fidelity addressed this  in a short time.

Why are we still sitting here hoping for  VISTA to 'get it right' instead of hoping that Qt would do something.   QT is simply the best trading platform, in my opinion, but  we need this handled and stop the finger-pointing.

Don't we know better than waiting on MSFT for a solution?  What happens if.. for some 'strange' reason, the  Vista service pack comes out and Qt is still not working smoothly?  Will we be waiting on a Vista SP2?

why dont you just turn off UAC and you will never ever have that problem with any program or system operation ever again... i figured that out the first day i had vista after seeing that screen 69 times while installing my hardware.

Personally, I like that UAC feature.  Having messed with other Operating systems   other than windows, I have accepted those types of features as a part of 'so called' more secure pc environment.
